HT81S in 2004 Tokyo Auto Salon

Its photo time again and I found this very beautiful photo of HT81S in JWRC and Street Concept style which was showcase during the 2004, Tokyo Auto Salon. There are not much differences between the JWRC and Street Concept or even the standard Swift Sport. The exterior of the car are almost identical except for the one piece wide fender and side mirror plus the rear wing. If you put the similar decal from the JWRC car, you could end up with the same car. Just remember to use the Speedline 17" rims for best effect.

p/s : Do you notice that the JWRC car have painted yellow signal on the head lamp design ? The original Ignis Sport and Swift Sport doesn't have this. I think the just use the HT51S or the normal Ignis, but why?

Comments

  1. Because homologation number of Ignis S1600 JWRC is A5628. Under this number is homologated IGNIS (FH) – 1'328.4cc. For this reason all JWRC Ignis S1600 has yellow signal on the head lamp. Ignis S1600 is made from standart Ignis 3 door 1.3.
Ignis Sport has homologation number A5674 and there arent any ugrades for S1600 version. Ignis Sport HT81S/HV81S was never a S1600 rally car.
    I dont understand why...

  2. I think the main reason are the launch time of HT81S. The 3 door ignis was launch much earlier together with the 5 door ignis hence Suzuki decide to homologate the 1.3cc 3 door ignis to enter rally races.
