Comparing HT81S, ZC31s & ZC32S

This time I would like to share another great comparison page by greeco car channel from Japan. The page owner have tabulate the differences between all the swift model starting from HT81S to the latest ZC32S.
 The page owner had previously done a similar comparison between HT81S and ZC31S and was mention in my blog back in February 2011

One thing that I would like to point out in the wrong picture was shown to describe HT81S, the picture shown is a 5 door Ignis/Swift and not the 3 door Swift Sport/Ignis Sport.

Based on the tabulation, the new swift sport (ZC32S) does give better horsepower and torque as the weight of the car is the same as ZC31S but the engine churn out more power. This power to weight ratio also surpass HT81S even HT81S is 140kg lighter than ZC32S/ZC31S. Plus it have a 6 speed manual transmission.

In the latter part of the page, the writer explain that the major advantages of HT81S are the price compare to the new swift but didn't forgo the trim & equipment. The lightness of the body also a major point as HT81S are almost into the kei car category minus the engine size.

Hence, you still can find a lot of HT81S owner in Japan still holding to their car and the performance parts are snatch up quickly at a decent price in the 2nd hand market. Some of the hardcore tuner had embark to higher engine displacement to challenge the new swift. This situation remind me of the era when the new civic (EK) are launch while the owner of EF are doing modification as much as possible to keep their car on par.
