Petrol prices in Malaysia

HT81S/HV81S is a rare breed, it doesn't drink Ron 92/Ron 95 petrol it need Ron 98 to stay healthy. For such a small car, it is a bit odd and lets don't compare it with other small size super cars. This is suppose to be a pocket rocket but the petrol requirement is somehow rather odd.
Since owning this car, I had used to pumping the highest grade petrol I could find in the local market. If possible, I will choose V-power by Shell and at least it won't be lower than Ron 97 petrol. Few years back it was below RM2.00 per liter and rises to maximum of RM 2.90 (normal Ron 97) and RM 3.20 (V-Power) at the peak.
Now Ron 97 is selling at RM2.80 per liter for sometime and it doesn't seem to drop any time soon. Why I ask ?
World oil prices had steadily drop for the past month and now it linger around USD 80.00. Since we were told that Ron 97 were not subsidized and peg plus will float according to world oil prices then why the price is not dropping ? It should be around Rm 2.20-RM 2.50 by now if we follow the world oil prices.
I don't mind paying more for petrol but the price should be reasonable too. Haihz...
