This item is currently for bid in Yahoo Auction Japan and I would like to share this design of intake kit. I didn't see this item in real but from the picture it seems that this design is to capture the cold air from the front and channel it into the original air filter box. An innovative design to say because it didn't really recreate the air flow way but just changes the tapping point (intake entrance).
This kit actually be replicated at home by using flexible tube and some metal sheet or fiber glass sheets that is molded to fit that position. Just you need some time to remove the front bumper to do all this thing. This design in one of the unique design I ever seen and must be given a thumb up for idea and creation of this.
I doubt it will give much performance to the car as the opening of the tube is not that much and it may sound a bit louder than the original because of the removal of resonance box.Links to the auction page in yahoo :-
