I think it is still not too late to have a wish list for this year (2011). Last year have been a fruitful year as I manage to get some good used parts to upgrade my car. Some of the upgrade is as below :-
1. Suzuki Sport strut bars
http://ht81s.blogspot.com/2010/09/used-strut-bar-from-japan.html
2. Cusco anti roll bar
http://ht81s.blogspot.com/2010/06/anti-sway-bar-from-yahoo-auction-again.html
3. Suzuki Sport Air Funnel
http://ht81s.blogspot.com/2011/01/suzuki-sport-air-ramp.html
4. Suzuki Sport Full Titanium Exhaust System
http://ht81s.blogspot.com/2010/06/used-exhaust-from-yahoo-auction.html
However I do have some problems with the drive shaft and other car parts that need to be replace and service. Never mind about that as I know that this car had company me for the past 5-6 years and serve me well.
Now I would like to list down what car parts that I wish to be include into my car :-
1. Carbon fiber bonnet (Monster Sport)
2. Lower arm bar (Suzuki Sport / Cusco)
3. Rear lateral rod (Suzuki Sport / Cusco)
4. Rear performance member (Suzuki Sport)
5. New air intake kit (Monster Sport/Suzuki Sport)
6. Okada Project ignition system
7. Emanage (Ultimate)
8. Monster Sport cam and valve springs
9. Suzuki Sport - Speedline TMC 17" rims
10. To beat my friend's Mini Cooper S (Hope he's not reading my blog...haha)
The last item is a bit difficult to realize as I know HT81S is not comparable to a 1.6 supercharger. But I think with a bit of tweak I maybe able to follow the Cooper S lead in a 0-100 race. Give me suggestion on how to keep up with a Cooper S in the comments box !

You wanna keep up with a Supercharged Mini Cooper?
ReplyDeleteHmmm...I think that the Monster Sport cams is not a good choice!I do know for a fact that these specific camshafts can be overlap adjustable but that's it!If you want more power you should look out for the Greddy cams from Swift Sport!Next step is porting and polishing the head and even port matching the intake and exhaust.A complete exhaust system 4-2-1 exact replicate of the Monster Sport manifold can aid your engine's output even more but don't over do it with exhaust piping anything bigger than 60mm will be useless.By the way don't forget the Monster Sport valve springs.A wider throttle body and some larger injectors will help even more.If you want to be more extreme on tuning up your engine get those Step2 forged high compression pistons for M16A!It's a direct drop in and with shaved head and proper head gasket will help the total output.
That's all from my friend.Good to know i am the first to comment here.
Greetings from Greece :))
Thanks for the very fast reply to this post.
ReplyDeleteI know and agree with the modification by you. But it is a big work on the engine actually and the cost itself is quite big. I wonder whats the major differences between the greddy and monster cam.
I think you miss out on the Emanage Ultimate piggyback in the end. Thanks anyway cultus.
Before replying to anything my name is Nick so nice to meet you :)
ReplyDeleteThe Greddy ones are 256 degrees while the Monster ones are 246 degrees. The Greddy ones also have bigger valve lift compared to Monster ones which are using ~8mm maybe less.Anything related to these items can be found on Greddy's site.
The cost i know and can understand is big not say HUGE but worth taking if get a chance.
As for the Emanage you 'll need to modify your ECU harness to make it work.:)
Just a small teaser here,we have a HT81S with Monster Sport camshafts, valve springs, complete exhaust system with 4-2-1 headers and 50mm exhaust piping using CAT(HJS euro4),middle box and back box with Dustek Unichip control subcomputer(unfortunately the member didn't listen to my advice) it maxed out 135hp on the flywheel! The car certainly is different from OE one.On 400m run it stays ahead of the stock one by 2 vehicles. Also, the member uses 17" Technomagnesio/Suzuki Sport lightweight magnesium wheels with 205/40 tires.
Thanks nick.
ReplyDeleteThat car should be one good M15A NA tune reference point. I do agree on the mod, but I much prefer Emanage than Dustek.
I would love to know the dyno chart on that car too.
The Dustek from what i know is the most useless subcomputer ever! It's cheap but most people don't know that they can get the same results and better if they remap their own ECU.Here's a little piece of information and knowledge! If you are planning N/A tune keep the Greddy if you want turbo set up or supercharger then use an AEM one.
ReplyDeleteEven better if you go for N/A you can even use a DTA standalone ECU which currently here is the best buy you can have.I know though for a fact that in Malaysia you are familiarized with Microtech ECUs so that's a good alternative too.
The Ignis mentioned above is flat powered, flat torqued.I mean that there's no wild kick in even after remapping and upgrading the engine. That's a very good thing because the engine and the total car is really fun to drive with no surprises like GTi G13B or Vtecs.
Torque if i remember correctly is around 17-18kgr quite impressive with such low mods and considering the fact that the Dustek is not that much to offer!
I didn't reseach more on dustek, but if you get 17-18kgm of torque it is quite good.
ReplyDeleteI will take note of your advice on ECU.
Thanks
If you 're gonna use high lift camshafts or camshafts in general you should remap the factory ECU on a 7800rpm limiter. But still use the E-manage Ultimate! The injectors are quite enough for this type of upgrade.
ReplyDeleteAlso,if you 're using a low temp thermostat from Suzuki Sport you will need remap too since it's too low temp,68C,and somehow it's messing up the VVTi!!
Why does the low temp thermostat affect the VVTi?
ReplyDeleteAny reference item to this ?
My country weather is hot so I don't this the low temp thermostat will effect much.
The climate in Greece is the same with Malaysia as well specially this time of year and summer. It's just that the low temperature thermostat is confusing the ECU in kicking in the VVTi.Sometimes it's working some times retarding it and kicks higher rpm.The thermostat is working around 65-68C compared to the factory one that opens at 88C!We 've noticed this on the last dyno run from the above mentioned Ignis.
ReplyDeleteDo you mean that the VVT will only kick in at 88C ?
ReplyDeleteI still confuse on when (what temperature) the VVT will kick in ...
Sorry for the trouble...
No problem about that:)
ReplyDeleteThe whole thing and trouble is that thermostat is cooling down the water earlier than the stock one due to it's ability to pop fully open at 65C.That way the VVTi somehow doesn't work correctly.Sometimes it works like factory some others at lower or higher rpm.
The thing though i have in mind is that the Dustek along side with the mapping is not correct!I'll see though if i can extract more information about this from the owner.:))
I will be waiting for your good news...
ReplyDeletePost some photos too.
Will try to post pictures once i ll meet with the member.
ReplyDeleteIt's just that right now i'm working on my Baleno to GTi twin cam conversion:))) and i m busy to death :P
If possible, show me some photos of your Baleno, it seems like a big project there.
ReplyDeleteHow you source your parts?
I 'll post photos of the car later today:))
ReplyDeleteNothing special on the looks just a typical 13year old car with bad paint that needs refreshing:(( and that's something in my plans.
Parts are some from a friend of yours,Ahmnad ;))
and some others all over the world.
Pictures uploaded:)
ReplyDeleteAny comments are welcomed :))
Something i revealed from my memory :P *_*
ReplyDeleteThe Mazda mx-5/miata ECU or the standalone ECUs made for those cars can work on the HT81S/HV81S as well!Pure bolt on process;)BP6 or BP8 doesn't matter.
Huh ? Who's Ahmnad ? I can't recall.....
ReplyDeleteWhere you post the picture ?
ECU thingy I will further look in the internet for clarification..
In my blog:))
ReplyDeleteCan't you see them??:O :( :-/
Its my fault, didn't notice it earlier..
ReplyDeleteNice photo and a very nice exhaust..
Thx :))
ReplyDeleteQuite cheap compared to other prices here in Greece cost me 200euros including work and quality is quite excellent i must say:)
Instead of spamming your post here post comments on my blog or photos:)
Hi do you know if zc21s M15a, can use ht81s suzuki sport flywheel, as a direct bolt on? I have been asking some shops and they don´t know for sure, thanks in advance
ReplyDeleteIt is the same flywheel for ZC21. ZC31 is slightly bigger.
ReplyDeletethanks man, add me in Facebook please as Marcelo Velasco, I will buy a ht81s flywheel for my zc21s :)
ReplyDeleteRemember to opt for the lightened flywheel for better pickup.
