Weird placement of audio control

Saw this photo the other day and feel that it is a bit weird to put the audio control at that position. Doesn't it difficult to choose and press the button ?

Am I get it wrong here ? Will the button position make it uneasy to engage the hand brake ?

Hope someone could enlighten me..
