Modified Intake Manifold

This is a modified version of ZC31S intake manifold to be installed into a HT81S engine. The picture was taken from Monster Edogawa facebook page which explain that a HT81S installed with this manifold will have an increase of high rpm power. In Monster tuned HT81S using NX18 engine, the engine are modified to run up to 8000rpm and in this high rpm, maybe this manifold will give a better air flow to the engine to maximize the horsepower.
HT81S original manifold are made from plastics and many doubt the durability of it if the owner installed a turbo charger or super charger. However, many who does that supercharging or turbocharging using original manifold doesn't experience breakdown due to manifold failure.
In ZC31, original manifold are cast iron and does give a better feeling of durability to the it. The size are a bit bigger compare to HT81S and it does weight much more too.
Come year 2012, the new ZC32S manifold revert back to plastic manifold and this time it have an additional tuning which include changes to the intake manifold design. The internal of the manifold can be alter to divert the air flow movement during high and low rpm. In low rpm, ZC32S manifold internal slot can be opened to allow a shorter air flow route and during the rpm this slot will be closed to give me more uniform air flow.
This changes is part of the major changes in ZC32S engine to allow it to give better horsepower and torque.
I wonder whether the size of the manifold in ZC32S will be able to fit into a HT81S ????

  1. Even if the ZC32S manifold do physically fit the current ZC31/21S engines, how are we going control the 'flaps' in the intake manifold? Am not sure if it's just controlled solely on vacuum and no form of electronic intervention or both together

  2. We just need to discover that later. There aren't any ZC32 in Malaysia yet, so can't really see it. I doubt it will be vacuum, most probably is actuated.
